Suzhou facility becomes China's first EMS provider certified with the International Rail Industry Standard (IRIS).

TT electronics integrated manufacturing services has announced that its Suzhou, China facility has become China's first EMS provider to pass the International Rail Industry Standard (IRIS), qualifying it to be supplier to the global rail industry.  Established in 2005 by the Association of the European Railway Industries (UNIFE), IRIS was created to develop and implement a global system with uniform language, uniform assessment guidelines, and mutual acceptance of audits for the evaluation of companies supplying to the railway industry in order to create a high level of transparency throughout the supply chain. According to Byron Zhang, Manufacturing Director at the TT electronics site in Suzhou, "IRIS is an exceptionally demanding standard. Achieving it involved passing a challenging audit procedure and means that our business and other processes have been thoroughly validated by an experienced audit team, looking at all aspects of the way that we operate."

The TT electronics site in Suzhou achieved AS9100 earlier this year, accrediting the site to manufacture safety critical flight systems for the aerospace industry. Its impressive portfolio of approvals, including ISO-13485 medical standard, the ISO14001:2004 environmental standard, TS16949, and ISO9001:2000 positions  TT electronics integrated manufacturing services Suzhou as a reliable manufacturer committed to achieving exceptional standards of quality for its customers.

"By receiving IRIS certification, TT electronics is better equipped to work with and serve major manufacturers in the railway sector, and provides an excellent opportunity for continued growth", said John Molloy, Divisional Chief Executive for TT electronics integrated manufacturing services. Although this standard is a requirement mainly for rail industry customers, it validates for all of our customers that our operations are to the highest quality standard."
